foreign I have a lot of patients that come in that are so scared of the dentist because of things that happened in the past or they can't get numb or they have just these huge dental problems that are overwhelming my name is Ron and I've been working in the electric transmission utility business for over 30 years and my type of work exposes me to a lot of what some people would consider scary High danger risk work you would think that my experiences with my type of work would lead me to be a very not scared of anything but when you have bad experiences as a young boy and a child with the dentist I just became a marshmallow I cannot stand the dentist and I have to say over that period of time I was really um putting it off and finally it came to a point where I had to go and it's been really a blessing for me to find the dentist like Dr Smith I'm Christine lanavara and all the time that I've been coming to Dr Smith I've gone from dreading the dentist appointments not wanting to come in to being okay when I come in not feeling nervous or anxious and not having a problem making my next appointment with him so many of my patients are embarrassed about their teeth they're embarrassed to even have me look in their mouth and they shouldn't be it's a very common problem to be scared of the dentist in our office we use the best technology we have a CT machine or one of the very few offices in Fresno that has their own CT machine because I always want to have the best information when I'm giving you a recommendation on what to do with your mouth he's called to check in to see how I'm doing after any appointment and he's always been available when I've needed help or had questions regarding any of the sedation or any of the work that I've needed done with sedation dentistry we can provide a safe and comfortable environment where you can get your dental problems fixed in one or two visits my name is Trisha and I found Dr Smith by actually searching the internet in the past I've not been able to get numb and I've suffered a lot of pain when I had IV sedation done it was it was phenomenal they were friendly they treated you like family I was just very happy and I was actually excited that I went home I told my husband I think I found a new dentist foreign

Choose How Deeply You Want To Relax

Laughing Gas

This is a mild form of sedation that makes the patient feel as though they had a couple glasses of wine during the procedure. The patient merely breathes the gas to get the desired effect, and the level of the gas is easily adjusted to make the patient as comfortable as possible.

No lingering after effect — you can legally drive yourself home

Single Pill With Laughing Gas

The patient is given one pill about an hour before the appointment. This will make them mildly relaxed. When they arrive in the office, we will then administer the nitrous oxide. This will get them a little more relaxed.

A very popular option for cleaning visits or for minor procedures

IV Sedation with an Anesthesiologist

They come back to the dental chair and they are greeted by warm blankets. The MD anesthesiologist then starts your IV, safely puts you to sleep, and gently wakes you up when the procedure is over. Dr. Smith will call to check on you and make sure your recovery is going as planned.

Deep sedation — there is no chance of waking up during the procedure

All patients coming into our office for a sedation consultation will start with a nice, comfortable, safe meeting with Melissa and Dr. Smith. Melissa has been with Dr. Smith since they started in 2001, and she hates going to the dentist just as much as you do.

Dr. Smith and Melissa take their time learning about your past, your fears, what you need done with your teeth. X-rays are taken if possible but often nothing “pokey” goes in the mouth. We talk about all the options that modern dentistry has.

my first impression was that it was that he and the office staff was extremely professional i was a bit nervous going in but i want to tell you coming out i was so relaxed he took so much time dealing with my situation he really did prior to the sedation i was a nervous wreck um having gone through it no longer will i be nervous it was a wonderful experience it was a great experience the next morning i was out shopping it was a breeze i would recommend dr smith any day to anyone and primarily because of his professionalism his quality of work as well as his wonderful staff

and dr smith is he's just a good guy he's a really really nice guy and he's unlike any dentist that i've ever had most dentists are just you know all about business but you know he actually takes time to care uh you know i recently got married i have a daughter he always asks about my wife my daughter and believe it or not my wife's even a patient of his first thing you do when you walk into the office is it's got a comfortable feel to it it doesn't really feel like a doctor's office doesn't really feel like a dentist's office dr smith and his staff made me feel extremely comfortable the from the person at the front office to to the all the staff ever since i've been a patient of his i don't think they've had one new one to employee iv sedation takes out the fear of pain associated with dental work it relaxes you to me it's the only way to go when it comes to dental work

when I first walked into dr. Smith's office I was impressed with first the deck or it was beautiful the ambiance was very calm the staff was very professional I felt confident in him and my case was sort of a very sensitive and I can't get adequate numbness or hadn't been able to and he assured me that that he'd know what to do and I felt confident in him I still was nervous when I first went in but then afterward I was completely relaxed and now i look forward to going to the dentist truly

as a young boy growing up um with not a lot of resources for really good dental care uh we used to go to the guy down the street the dentist affectionally known by my sisters and I as the jawbreaker and uh it was painful it was horrible experience and with that I avoided the dentist for almost 20 years my first impression with do Smith I found him to be a very caring and compassionate man um later I knew that he was also an excellent dentist and I feel safe going to him I never had I IV sedation before I was a little skeptic on it but uh once my procedure was done I had no pain I really had no recollection of what went on uh but I could tell you that it was painless I would highly recommend Dr Smith to anyone that's looking to have uh their teeth corrected or just minor work done because again he is the most caring and compassionate uh dentist that I have known in my lifetime and great work great staff great facility they make you feel so comfortable when you're there the first time
